Host: Angie Coiro

Bay Area audiences still remember Angie in her first gig: novice traffic reporter on the 2am shift. Within a year she became Metro Traffic’s afternoon anchor, juggling reports and personas on eight stations. KQED public radio picked her up as an announcer, then a news anchor, and finally as host for their signature Friday talk show. She then debuted Mother Jones Magazine’s national interview show on Air America Radio. Now Angie hosts conversations on American politics and culture with Live from the Left Coast. Angie’s garnered multiple awards for her incisive, informed, and personable style.

Mike Wallace, Martin Short, Calvin Trillin, Gloria Steinem. They’ve all sat for live, onstage interviews with Angie. Angie creates comfortable, flowing conversations, keeping guests at ease, the audience engrossed, and a sharp eye on the clock.

She can wrangle a contentious debate, as she did at Stanford University, when Rev. Lou Sheldon faced off with gay rights activist Evan Wolfson over same-sex marriage.

Angie has appeared for City Arts and Lectures of San Francisco, the City and County of San Francisco, Mother Jones Magazine in San Francisco, Foolproof in Seattle, the Flint Center in Cupertino, Montalvo Arts in Saratoga, and in many smaller, more intimate venues.
